A captive center is an offshore office that a company owns and runs through its own local legal entity, with the staff employed directly by the company. Larger ones are often called global capability centers (GCCs).
Captive center or global capability center (GCC)
It gives the most control over people, culture and security, but you carry every cost and risk: registering a company, leasing and fitting out an office, hiring local leadership and handling local payroll and compliance.
Because of the fixed costs, captive centres usually make sense only for large, long-term teams.
